lets talk planets, meteors and moons!

27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for.............

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

be sure to stay up n spot this spectacular event!!
no one alive now can see this twice...
so dun say i didnt warn u!!! =P

Can you see Perseid meteors after the shower’s peak? Sure, but not as many. The best time was midnight to dawn on the mornings of August 12 and 13. You might also have seen Perseids before those dates, since the shower builds to a peak gradually. Afterwards, the Perseid meteor shower falls off rapidly. The nights before the Perseid’s peak are usually better for meteor-watching than the nights afterwards. But give it a try!
The next good opportunity to see a major meteor shower will be on the mornings of November 17 and 18, 2010 when the Leonid meteor shower will peak, with the moon out of the way. There are several minor meteor showers – or major showers wiped out by moonlight – between now and then.
dun say i din tell u ok??

-thanks faithful listener-
